Elias Faingersh is a renowned Swedish trombonist, celebrated for his unique blend of classical music and modern electronic influences. Born with a passion for music, he began playing the trombone at a young age, and his talent quickly became evident.
He studied at the Malmö Academy of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, where he refined his technical skills and developed his distinctive musical style, which merges the traditional sounds of the trombone with cutting-edge electronic compositions.
Faingersh has captivated audiences worldwide with his innovative performances, often pushing the boundaries of classical music. His groundbreaking show, “Trombone Magic”, was not only performed live but also broadcast on Russian and Israeli television. The show’s success further cemented his reputation as an artist who could bridge the gap between classical tradition and contemporary experimentation.
Over the years, Faingersh has performed at some of Europe’s most prestigious venues, including the Berliner Philharmonie and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. One of the highlights of his career came when he was invited to open the "Hans Christian Andersen Year" at the Royal Danish Opera, performing “The Ugly Duckling” in the presence of the Danish royal family.
In collaboration with director Lars Rudolfsson, Faingersh brought to life “A Hamlet Drama for Trombone and Orchestra”, which was performed by the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and broadcasted nationwide. His ability to merge the grandeur of orchestral music with the intimacy of solo trombone performances has earned him recognition both in classical and contemporary circles.
More recently, Faingersh has presented his comedic program, “Alone in the Orchestra Pit”, a humorous yet insightful look into the world of opera from the perspective of a trombonist. This show adds a lighthearted touch to his impressive repertoire, demonstrating his versatility as both a performer and a storyteller.
